[London for easter]

After 2 days of working and drinking job beers it is now time for London the tourist way. My first stop will be Kingston-upon-Thames tonight. Then tomorrow we probably will see Hampton Court - one of the numerous royal castles around here. Comes with a big and nice park. We are staying in a flat in Sunbury Cross. Today I passed by the village of Sunbury (so I think) at the Thames riverside on the bus back from work. It had an old feeling about it. It would be nice to stroll around there.

Shopping at eurostop, Arlandastad, which is nothing less than yet another mall and yet another experience of western mainstream religion.

Finding out what to do in London is not easy. A multitude of royal castles, artexhibitions and whatnot and only 3 days to spend. Hmmmm. Hampton Court Palace seem to be close to where we stay so it may be worth a visit. Windsor is another obious option.

Going to London around easter for some work and some art. I especially look forward to the impressionist exhibition at Tate Britain featuring Turner, Whistler and Monet. Turners fabulous Rain, Steam and Speed below.

More classic paintings can be found at ibiblio. Tate Britain also hosts an vide installation exhibit by Jananne Al-Ani supported by Diesel which just seems to be awesome. And swedes as we are it will be hard to ignore the Strindberg exhibition at Tate Modern.

To find away to get around the London Journey Planner seem to be just splendid.

Being a cyberpunk reader for some 12 years or so it may seem strange that Tad Williams Otherland series occur on my reading list just now. This may be due to the fact that I have placed Williams in the fantasy opera genre after not managing to get through Memory, Sorrow and Thorn properly. Otherland may not introduce any new exciting features to the scinec fiction scene but manages to blend quite a few concepts to an interesting and enjoyable mix. This said after reading just the first book (City of Golden Shadow) in the serie. A coworker claims that the second volume is so boring that you can just skip it and go right to the third..... It is hard to behave like that though. While making my mind up I am reading the first part of Peter F. Hamiltons Night's Dawn Trilogy: The Reality Dysfunction. After the first 100 pages out of 1400 or so it seems really promising.

[Memories long forgotten]

The memory of completeness haunts me. Will I ever revisit that place of solid ground and flawless energy? Not in a few years I would guess. One day it will happen.
